Java Developer

Title: JAVA DeveloperLocation: Pittsburgh, PA (5 days onsite)Term: 18+ MonthsRate: DOEThis role is responsible for the detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on developer working within an agile crew to write code, test, and deploy software while also coaching junior team members. This position involves maintaining and debugging software to address complex business needs.Responsibilities:Provide detailed technical design and hands-on development of software solutionsWork with an agile crew to understand user stories and meet acceptance criteriaWrite, test, and deploy high-quality codeMaintain and debug existing software to correct errors and improve performancePrepare technical and procedural documentationModify software to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfacesDevelop and direct software system testing and validation proceduresConsult with engineering staff to evaluate the interface between hardware and softwareCoach junior team members as neededRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience6 to 8 years of professional experience5+ years of Java development experienceKnowledge of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing and deliveryExperience with computer development software such as SQL, Java, and J2EEStrong problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyExcellent verbal and written communication skills--
