This unique opportunity allows you to tailor your role based on your professional interests:High-Volume, High-Quality Spay/Neuter ClinicShelter MedicineOr a combination of bothWhether you thrive in the efficiency of a surgical setting, enjoy the complexity and variety of shelter medicine, or want the best of both worlds, we offer flexibility to create a position that fits your strengths and career goals.As a private, nonprofit organization serving our community, LHS is committed to lifesaving, innovation, and providing high-quality care to both shelter animals and owned pets.Position Options & ResponsibilitiesOption 1: Spay/Neuter Clinic FocusWork in our high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter clinic serving shelter pets and owned animals.Responsibilities include:Patient intake and pre-operative preparationVenipuncture and catheter placementAnesthesia induction, monitoring, and recoverySurgical assistanceAccurate anesthesia record keepingDental cleanings as neededPost-operative care and client educationMaintaining sterile surgical environment and instrument careThis role is ideal for technicians who enjoy efficiency, anesthesia monitoring, and helping prevent pet overpopulation.Option 2: Shelter Medicine FocusWork directly with animals in our shelter environment, providing daily medical care and supporting lifesaving efforts.Responsibilities include:Daily medical treatments and medication administrationVaccine administration and intake examsDiagnostic sample collection and laboratory workMonitoring and treatment of medical and surgical casesSupporting humane careCollaboration with all departmentsMaintaining detailed medical recordsThis role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in cases, problem-solving, and making a direct impact on vulnerable animals.Option 3: Combined RoleSplit time between the spay/neuter clinic and shelter medicine.
