Job Title: Telemetry Technician Location: Long Island City, New York 11102Job Duration: 9 Weeks Shift: 5x8-Hour Night Shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Hours per Week: 40 Hours Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirementsJob Summary: Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation. Identify and respond to life-threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, record rhythms during codes, perform continuous EKG monitoring, troubleshoot monitoring issues, and respond appropriately to monitor alarms.Job Responsibilities:Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings with proper electrode placementCommunicate clearly with nurses, co-workers, and physiciansEnter and verify orders in the systemRetrieve lab results and report to the charge nurseEnsure documentation meets organizational standardsOperate monitoring and medical equipment safely and accuratelyRequirements:Experience as a Telemetry Technician or Monitor Tech requiredBasic knowledge of MS Office SuiteAbility to interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmiasCertifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross)Dysrhythmia Course (required)EKG certification (preferred)Shift Details:11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 5 days per weekWeekend shifts may be requiredEducation:High School Diploma or equivalent required
