Accounting Manager - Manufacturing

The company is a fast‑growing manufacturing organization seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager to lead daily accounting operations, oversee AP/AR, manage the month‑end close, and support process improvements as the business scales. This role supervises one Staff Accountant and is ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, strengthening controls, and driving efficiency in a dynamic environment.Responsibilities:Lead accounting operations including AP, AR, cash management, and month‑end close.Supervise and develop one Staff Accountant; review daily transactions for accuracy and compliance.Manage weekly payment activities (checks, ACH, wires) and monitor cash activity and forecasting.Own the month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.Review general ledger activity and ensure accurate, GAAP‑compliant reporting.Maintain strong internal controls and support audit requirements.Improve and document accounting processes and SOPs as the department grows.Partner cross‑functionally to resolve accounting issues and support business operations.Manage 1099 reporting and oversee sales/use tax compliance, including Avalara reviews and state filings.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilitiesStrong understanding of the full accounting cycle and month‑end closeNetSuite ERP experienceExperience in a multi‑entity or manufacturing environmentStrong analytical skills and ability to lead through changeKnowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and AP/AR processesProficiency in Excel and strong communication skills
