Quick Job Snapshot Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown / CVOR Location: Springfield, Illinois (62769) — Springfield IL nursing jobs / travel nurse opportunity Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,500 – $2,630 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday (typical hours between 6:30am–3:00pm and 7:30am–4:00pm) Hours per Week: 40 Start Date: April 20, 2026 Minimum Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 2 years recent CVOR or Cardiac Stepdown RN experience (telemetry / progressive care experience preferred) Active Illinois RN license (must be in hand) BLS certification required Ability to submit requested time off (RTO) at time of application Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse eligibility) Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care for individuals recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiac procedures in the stepdown unit Monitor hemodynamics and telemetry, assess vital signs, and administer prescribed medications and IV therapies Assist with cardiac interventions, wound care, and post-op recovery protocols relevant to CVOR and PCU populations Collaborate with cardiology, surgical teams, and multidisciplinary staff to develop and implement individualized patient care plans Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and lifestyle modifications for cardiac recovery Participate in on-call rotation (estimated once a week and every 3rd or 4th weekend) and maintain accurate, timely documentation to uphold patient safety and quality standards Why Join This Springfield, IL Travel Nursing Role?
