Manager, Medical EducationWith limited supervision, the Manager, Medical Education provides administrative oversight of medical education programs at Connecticut Children's. The Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and developing staff supporting these programs, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with institutional policies, and accountability for program accreditation. This role oversees Medical Education Program Coordinators and staff, prioritizes workflow, allocates resources effectively, and coordinates with internal and external partners to achieve program and institutional goals.Responsibilities include managing and directing staff supporting medical education programs, prioritizing and overseeing workflow for the team to ensure efficient operations, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support staff growth, facilitating team collaboration and communication across departments and with external stakeholders to support smooth program operations, monitoring staff compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements, planning and coordinating team-driven initiatives, overseeing staff participation in accreditation and program reviews, managing staff-related budgets and resources, developing and implementing operational improvements in staff workflows, processes, and team structures to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and outcomes, building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners to support staff effectiveness and program success, representing the Department in internal and external forums related to staff operations, professional development, and program oversight, supporting organizational mission and culture by modeling professional behaviors, promoting team cohesion, and valuing diversity and inclusion, providing overall supervision of Medical Education Program Coordinators and staff, determining appropriate methods and processes for them to effectively meet accreditation and institutional requirements, participating in the selection, hiring, and orientation process; partnering with Administrative Director of Medical Education in all phases of performance management, including establishing performance standards, coaching, mentoring, and appraisals, communicating expectations, providing ongoing feedback and coaching, and facilitating staff professional development, resolving routine employee relations issues and escalating complex matters to the Administrative Director as appropriate, educating staff on team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution, tracking staff time and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements, participating in administrative activities such as policy implementation and maintaining department files, setting team priorities and coordinating work activities with other leaders, and decisions are guided by Connecticut Children's policies, procedures, and organizational plan; receives guidance and oversight from the Administrative Director of Medical Education.Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree, minimum of three (3) years of experience in medical education, academic medicine, healthcare administration, or a closely related field, minimum of three (3) years of direct supervisory experience with formal authority over personnel decisions, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, staff development, corrective action, and termination, minimum of seven (7) years of combined progressively responsible experience in medical education (or a closely related field) and a supervisory role with formal personnel management authority accepted In lieu of required degree, Certified Training Administrator of Graduate Medical Education (C-TAGME), principles and best practices of staff supervision, team leadership, and performance management, administration of medical education programs and operational processes, interacting with regulatory and administrative organizations in an academic or medical education setting, budget management, resource allocation, and operational planning, strong leadership and team-building skills, including conflict resolution, staff development, and motivation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with staff, faculty, and institutional partners, organizational and project management skills to coordinate multiple initiatives and meet deadlines, ability to monitor performance metrics, track progress, and implement improvements, budget preparation and fiscal management skills, lead, supervise, and develop a team of program coordinators and staff effectively, assess situations and adapt management approaches to achieve desired outcomes, mentor, coach, and provide constructive feedback to staff, plan, prioritize, and delegate work to ensure efficient operations and program compliance, work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals, learn and apply new software and systems to manage staff, workflows, and reporting requirements.Job Info includes Job Identification 4346, Job Category Management, Posting Date 01/08/2026, 09:33 PM, Job Shift Day, Locations 10 Columbus Blvd, Hartford, CT, 06106, US (Hybrid), Scheduled Days and Hours M-F 8-4:30p.
