Program Portfolio Manager

Job Title: Program/Portfolio ManagerLocation: King of Prussia, PA (Onsite – Hybrid – 3 days in a week)Position Type: Contract positionResponsibilities:Manager Notes:8+ years of enterprise Program/Portfolio Management experience within large global organizations, preferably in pharma/life sciences ITStrong executive presence with proven ability to drive complex cross-functional initiatives, manage stakeholders, and push programs to completionDemonstrated “driver” mentality with expertise in program governance, strategic execution, risk management, and delivery accountabilityJob Responsibilities:Lead and manage large-scale enterprise IT programs and strategic initiatives within a global pharmaceutical organizationDrive program execution across cross-functional teams including business, technology, operations, and executive stakeholdersEstablish and maintain program governance structures, executive reporting, risk management processes, and delivery accountabilityFacilitate executive-level meetings, steering committees, and strategic planning sessionsDevelop and manage integrated program plans, timelines, dependencies, budgets, and resource coordination activitiesIdentify risks, issues, and roadblocks proactively and drive mitigation and resolution strategies to maintain delivery momentumEnsure alignment between business objectives and IT execution across multiple workstreams and stakeholdersCreate concise, executive-ready communications, presentations, dashboards, and status reporting materialsDrive organizational accountability by following through on action items, decisions, and deliverables across teamsPartner with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives, manage competing priorities, and support strategic decision-makingSupport change management and organizational readiness activities associated with enterprise technology initiativesPromote operational excellence, continuous improvement, and best practices in program and project deliveryNavigate ambiguity effectively while maintaining focus on outcomes, timelines, and business value deliveryQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field8+ years of Program or Project Management experience within large enterprise environmentsProven experience managing enterprise IT programs within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry strongly preferredDemonstrated success operating in highly matrixed global organizations and influencing senior executive stakeholdersStrong "driver” mentality with the ability to take ownership, create momentum, and push initiatives through completionExceptional executive presence with strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skillsExperience managing multiple complex workstreams simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and delivery timelinesStrong understanding of program governance, risk management, dependency management, and strategic planning processesAbility to lead through ambiguity and navigate organizational complexity with confidence and professionalismProficiency with project and portfolio management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar platformsPMP, PgMP, SAFe, or related certifications preferredExperience supporting global digital transformation, enterprise systems, or strategic IT initiatives preferredExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to work effectively in fast-paced, high-visibility environments with demanding stakeholders
