Secretary for Instructional Services
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time SWIC Educational Employee position of Secretary for Instructional Services.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this work involves performing a variety of secretarial duties for the Adult Education Department instructional teams district-wide. Duties involve assisting Directors in the management of instructional programs. Assignments involve skilled typing, data entry and retrieval, maintaining a filing system, records management, registration entries, roster distribution and communications with various external and internal constituencies. The secretary performs tasks requiring the application of judgment and the interpretation of policies and regulations. The secretary receives instructions on new assignments and policies from a supervisor who is normally available for advice and assistance. Work is reviewed primarily for the quality of secretarial services provided. This is a full-time twelve-month position contingent upon grant funding. Work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday, 8 am to 4 pm Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or college course work in relevant field is preferred.
2. Minimum three (3) years of experience in secretarial work in computer environment required.
3. Demonstrated ability in database use and word processing required. Ability to work in Windows preferred.
SALARY: $31,863 per year
