In keeping with our history and traditions, we provide our students with a rigorous, broadly based liberal arts curriculum joined with specialization in a specific discipline.Position Summary and Key ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Graduate Assistant (GA) supports the Division of Student Affairs through administrative, operational, and programmatic functions. Responsibilities include assisting with marketing and communications, supporting office management and daily operations, and providing cross-functional support to various Student Affairs units. The GA may also assist with student engagement initiatives, events, and special projects to enhance the overall student experience.Key Responsibilities:Provide administrative support for the Office of Student Affairs, including scheduling, communication, and office coordination. Assist with marketing and communications efforts, including social media, email outreach, and promotional materials. Support daily operations and front-facing services to ensure a positive student experience. Collaborate with Student Affairs staff to assist with programs, events, and student engagement initiatives. Contribute to special projects and provide support across functional areas within the Division.Uphold university policies and contribute to a welcoming, inclusive campus environment.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and acceptance into a McKendree University graduate program.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.Proficiency with Microsoft Office; (familiarity with social media, digital marketing, Adobe Creative Suite, or basic web editing preferred).Preferred Qualification:Previous clerical or office work.Work ConditionsAbility to work up to 20 hours per week; nights and weekends required based on programming and department needs.Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. (˜ 23 kg) and perform physical tasks related to event setup.Routinely stand during during events and programs.
