Surgery - General Physician Assistant

Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL and Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL are actively seeking Advanced Practice Providers (NP/PA) to join our Surgical team! This role supports providers across Mercy Medical Center and Holy Family, requiring flexibility to travel between both sites. The APP will provide high-quality, patient-centered care, focusing on wound management, wound debridement, and support of general surgery workflows.Position DetailsPerform wound assessments, ongoing wound care, and wound debridement (sharp debridement required).Manage acute and chronic wounds in collaboration with the General Surgery team.Conduct patient evaluations, develop treatment plans, and participate in interdisciplinary care planning.Provide pre- and post-operative surgical care, including follow-up visits and patient education.Document all care in the EMR in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.Coordinate care across both clinical sites, ensuring consistent communication with the surgical team.Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary services to optimize patient outcomes.QualificationsLicensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Illinois.National board certification required.Minimum 1-2 years of wound care experience, preferably in surgical or hospital-based settings.Competency and experience in wound debridement.Current BLS/ACLS (or ability to obtain before start date).Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently.Ability to travel between Aurora and Des Plaines regularly.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary + Comprehensive benefits packageMalpractice insurance coverageCME allowanceRetirement planRelocation assistance (if applicable)Opportunities for professional growthPrime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 on an annualized basis.
