Job Title: Laboratory Technician (Electrochemistry)Pay Rate: $32 to $35/HRDuration: 12 monthsLocation: Irvine, CAConduct experiments and perform a variety of technical procedures in the development of materials for electronics applications.Work on special PD development projects as guided by supervisors; Strong laboratory and research skills: compliance with all safety regulations, sound lab technique, and good record keepingGather and analyze data using the Albert digital system and provide fast communications to supervisorsComplete raw material evaluations for replacements and qualityComplete laboratory batches and coordinate and participate in testing as needed for approval at automotive OEM customers.Specific material improvement projects as assigned.Design and complete controlled experiments as needed.Participate in pilot and plant-scale runs of products under development.Assist other internal departments as needed.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Chemistry-related or Material Science, Polymer Science field from a four-year college or university with 3 years or more related experience in the Epoxy, Rubber, Plastics Compounding, or Coatings Industry; orAssociate’s Degree (A.A.) in a Chemistry-related or Materials Science field with five or more years of related experience and/or extensive training in Epoxy, Rubber, Plastics Compounding, or Coatings Industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a team or independently and perform assignments with limited supervision.He has hands-on experience and enjoys working with machines and tools, and coming up with new ideas.Previous experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.Strong problem-solving skills and well-organized.Excellent verbal and written communication.Strong computer skills: MS Office.Self-Starter; collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude.Project management skills: strong work ethic and ability to meet work deadlines.Typical EquipmentLab mixers, scales, hotplates, convection ovens, aging ovens, test panels, basic physical property testing equipment, Instron tensile tester, and various environmental test chambers.
