Project Controls Specialist
Job Title: Project Controls SpecialistLocation: Lexington, KYJob Type: Long-Term ContractPosition OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Project Controls Specialist to support a long-term contract opportunity in Lexington, KY. This role is responsible for leading project controls processes and partnering closely with the project management team to ensure successful delivery of projects within budget and on schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, scheduling expertise, and a proactive approach to cost and performance management.Key ResponsibilitiesLead project controls processes to support execution of project deliverablesSet up and maintain projects within Enterprise Planning & Controls softwareAnalyze project data, review logs, and generate reports using project controls toolsDevelop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)Prepare and manage scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project projectionsSupport engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost controlServe as a technical point of contact for project controls-related inquiriesReview and approve Purchase Orders and Subcontracts for proper cost codingTrack, document, and manage changes to cost reports and forecastsCollaborate with Project Management and Accounting teams on cost reviews, contingency tracking, and audit supportReview and manage upstream and downstream change ordersDevelop and present cash flow reportsCreate and manage schedules at varying levels of complexityApply and validate logic ties within project schedulesMonitor and manage resource loading within schedulesSupport Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM)Generate and tailor schedule reports for stakeholdersAnalyze schedule performance, including critical path and forecasting impactsPerform schedule "what-if” scenario analysisDevelop and maintain earned value management (EVM) systemsTrack and validate progress measurement and maintain progress curvesPerform material takeoffs as neededConduct quality checks on project controls deliverablesPerform field audits to ensure reporting accuracy and process complianceAssist with project forensic analysis when requiredEnsure compliance with all company policies and safety standardsPerform additional duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 3+ years of direct project controls experienceEquivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeExperience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferredStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal and collaboration skillsAbility to analyze complex data and provide actionable insightsOSHA 10-hour certification (or ability to obtain)Willingness to travel approximately one week per monthAspen Technical StaffingCELEBRATING 25 YEARS ~2001-2026~We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
