Frontier is the most fuel-efficient of all major U.S. carriers when measured by ASMs per fuel gallon consumed.What Will You Be Doing?The Senior Manager, Airbus Programs is responsible for managing the Flight Operations Airbus program and managing the fleet for current and future state equipage. This includes being the technical subject matter expert on the Airbus for Flight Operations and primary liaison to Airbus, vendors, industry, and FAA on technical matters regarding the Flight Operations Fleet Programs.Essential FunctionsMember of the Flight Standards Board (FSB) and Data Analysis Group (DAG)Primary Flight Operations interface with Airbus Industries on operational and technical issuesInterface with Maintenance on Airbus technical issuesFlight Operations Airbus Subject Matter ExpertParticipate in aircraft order customization and analyze technology advancement in fleet operationsMonitor and evaluate Airbus FCOM, FCTM, QRH, technical documentation revisionsMonitor and analyze Flight Operations impacts to fleet upgrades, Operations Engineering Bulletins, Airworthiness DirectivesValidate, monitor, and modify the Navigation Database and AOC Database programActs as the Navigation Database manager per the NDVRCP manualCoordinate with Director of Operations in management of applicable Operations SpecificationsInterface with Senior Manager, Technical Programs on operational and technical issues as they relate to aircraft connectivity and communications.Subject Matter Expert for Flight Operations Manual Volume II, Flight Operations Manual Volume III, FlySmart+/eQRH, and Navigation Database Validation & Recurring Check Program (NDVRCP)Airline Flight Operations technical point-of-contact for FAA, industry, and vendorsRespond to Incident Reports involving aircraft-related issuesInterface with the FAA regarding coordination of Airbus operational/safety concerns (e.g., SAIs, EPIs, ADs, DCTs)Primary representative for Frontier Airlines at industry and regulatory initiatives (e.g., NAV PARC working group, DCIT, airspace and airport meeting/workgroups, etc.)Coordinates with other departments to ensure the safe, professional, and efficient aircraft operationsOther duties assigned by the Frontier Airlines leadershipAdministers the SMS in areas of responsibilityPromotes safetyAdvises upper management of the performance of the SMS and any identified areas of improvementManages, mitigate, and accept risk as defined by the Frontier Risk Acceptance ChartOther FunctionsCoordinate with the Chief Pilot Office on operational and technical issues.Provide technical information and expertise to pilots when necessary.Participate in inter-departmental work groups and projects.Develop long term vision for aircraft equipage and capabilities.Aid in budget development for fleet operations.QualificationsExperience with the development and management of 14 CFR 121 Air Carrier ProgramsPrevious Flight Operations ExperienceA320 Aircraft Type RatingAirline Transport Pilot LicenseExperience in working with the FAA and other regulatory agenciesExtensive technical knowledge of Airbus A320 Family aircraft systemsUnderstanding of Minimum Equipment List authorizationKnowledge of Operations Specifications and FAA RegulationsExtensive business software experience including:Microsoft WordMicrosoft ExcelMicrosoft PowerPointMicrosoft OutlookAdobe AcrobatAdobe FrameMakerProject management experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities4 year college degree preferred.Experience with aviation regulations and airline operations.Technical writing experience.Excellent communications skills; both written and verbal.Public speaking skills.Technical expertise in Airbus A320 Series systems.Self-motivation with ability to manage multiple projects or tasks.Ability to handle high stress and high workload environments.Excellent organizational skills.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Experience with the Microsoft Office suite and other common computer applications.Equipment OperatedCurrent and qualified on Airbus A320 Series aircraft.Work EnvironmentBased in Denver, Colorado at Frontier Airlines HeadquartersMonday through Friday with availability on Weekends when necessaryTravel when necessary; domestic and internationalPhysical EffortLight physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.Supervision ReceivedConsiderable Latitude: The incumbent establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives, and receives guidance in terms of broad goals.
