DescriptionCHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area with a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.The Pavilion and North Tower house a state-of-the-art emergency department, ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and surgical suitesA teaching facility in affiliation with the Texas A&M University System Health and Science Center College of MedicineAccredited Chest Pain CenterAccredited Joint Commission Stroke TeamSummary:The competent Nurse, in the Critical Care and similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, in accordance with patient treatment plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Unit OperationsPlans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift.Demonstrates good stewardship in proper use and maintenance of equipment and Supplies.Assesses departmental staffing needs; actively participates in resourcing efforts.Educates and trains others on the operations, ethics, and regulations within the industry.Standard IV.
