Accounting Manager - cost/inventory focus

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Accounting Manager to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $120,000 to $150,000 per year. Job Responsibilities:Oversee inventory and cost accounting activity including standard cost updates labor overhead absorption and freight tracking.Lead inventory related close activities by preparing journal entries analyzing valuations and completing balance sheet reviews.Develop and manage processes for excess and obsolete inventory reserves and investigate material labor and overhead variances.Review inventory and margin reports design performance indicators and deliver insights to support management decisions.Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to improve cost efficiency inventory levels and operational outcomes. Requirements:Hold a bachelor degree in finance economics or a related discipline with an advanced degree preferred.Bring manufacturing experience with 5+ years focused on cost and inventory accounting.Demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting systems with hands on experience in enterprise platforms.Use Excel at an advanced level and work confidently with the full Microsoft Office suite.Apply strong business judgment and analytical thinking to complex operational and financial data. Qualifications:Support compliance efforts by assisting with internal control documentation testing and reporting requirements.Participate in physical inventory counts cycle counts and reconciliation processes.Identify automation opportunities and support system enhancements while maintaining accuracy and accountability.Prepare audit and tax schedules and respond to internal reporting needs across departments.Contribute to special projects with a proactive approach and maintain a collaborative problem solving mindset.REF#52142
