Responsible for team leadership, workflow optimization, regulatory compliance, and financial performance. Partners across the organization to improve medication access, service quality, and operational outcomes.Essential Functions:Operations & Service Delivery Oversee retail pharmacy operations, workflows, and service performance Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards Monitor and improve key performance metrics (service, quality, access) Optimize medication dispensing, inventory, and delivery processesPeople Leadership* Lead, develop, and evaluate pharmacists, technicians, and support staff* Drive engagement, accountability, and a high-performance culture* Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing competency developmentMedication Access & Experience* Improve patient access through prior authorization and affordability strategies* Ensure high-quality customer service and effective service recovery* Partner with clinical teams to enhance medication use outcomesFinancial & Business Management* Support budgeting, performance tracking, and profitability* Monitor reimbursement and billing practices* Contribute to business planning and 340B program optimizationOther QualificationsOperational Leadership & Clinical Oversight* Execute and support hospital and pharmacy policies and procedures; collaborate on policy development and updates* Oversee pharmaceutical care delivery, including staffing, clinical services (rounding, clinics, monitoring, dosing, antimicrobial stewardship), and service quality* Serve as a clinical role model and resource for pharmacy staff* Lead recruitment, onboarding, and development of team members* Maintain competency in sterile and non-sterile compounding, including hazardous medications* Perform quality assurance activities (e.g., medication history audits)* Resolve automated dispensing cabinet issues and support investigational drug studies* Provide operational coverage aligned to departmental needsCommunication & Collaboration* Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams; clearly articulate clinical recommendations* Build strong working relationships across pharmacy, clinical teams, and leadership* Participate in committees and departmental initiatives* Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment and uphold professionalismInitiative & Professional Practice* Demonstrate independent judgment, accountability, and attention to detail* Contribute to program development, education, and continuous improvement efforts* Stay current with clinical and professional trendsCompliance* Adhere to all organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and HIPAA standardsPerform other duties as assigned# Additional Job Description:Education: Graduated from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy (required)Experience:** Post-Graduate Year 2 (PGY-2) Specialty Residency plus two (2) years of experience in specialty area OR* Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency plus three (3) years of experience in specialty area OR* Five (5) years of experience in specialty area* Two (2) years of leadership experience (preferred)Licensure:* Active and unrestricted licensure as a pharmacist from the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, or eligibility for license with the expectation of obtaining an active and unrestricted pharmacist licensure prior to job start date.
