Architectural Drafter

Spur Design is looking for an Architectural Drafter to support the production and coordination of construction documents across a variety of project types. This role will focus on drafting, BIM support, and team collaboration while contributing to a firm that values growth, teamwork, and creating spaces for the good of others.Responsibilities:Provide architectural and technical support on various project types within Spur Design including AutoCAD/BIM project set-up, development, and detailingAs requested, assist in the development of tools and standards related to the BIM process and internal Spur Design drafting standardsAssist in the operations of Spur Design offices in the maintenance of office systems including the updating of trade libraries and filing systemsAssist the Project Architect and/or other Architectural Designers in preparing and ensuring the completion of fully coordinated Construction Documents that comply with all project and code requirementsAssist the Project Architect in the coordination of sub-consultants at all production and drawing coordination levelsEnsure project compliance with local, federal, and VA TIL standardsEnsure compliance with Spur drafting and quality control standardsParticipate in mentorship programs to empower all Spur employeesAt all times, be a good representative of Spur inside and outside of the officeQualifications:Individual with 2+ years experience (non-licensed)Position for drafting architectural drawings and detailsAssociates degree in drafting from technical school or community college preferredExperienced in design software including but not limited to AutoCAD and RevitIndividual with strong creative design skills and the ability to find and implement unique solutions to problemsIndividual with strong time management skills - must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time while maintaining tight project schedulesIndividual possesses good customer service skills, along with communication and interpersonal skills between the architectural team and consultantsIndividual shows adaptability and commitment to improve - Completes small tasks when given direction to improve overall technical skillsBenefits:Benefits offered with the full-time position include paid time off, sick time off, holiday time off; Healthcare, STD, LTD and Life Insurance plans; reimbursement for professional exams and continuing education; and retirement contributions as follows:15-25 days of accrued personal time off (PTO) based on years in professionPaid Holidays including:New Year’s DaySpur Design Inception Day (observed the Friday before Memorial Day)Memorial DayIndependence DayLabor DayThanksgiving Day and the following FridayChristmas Day and the weekdays between Christmas and New Year’s DayShort-term Disability (STD) and Long-term Disability (LTD) are provided at no charge and include compensation of up to 60% of annual base salary.Life insurance in the amount of up to $100,000 or 2x annual base salary (whichever is less) is provided at no charge.Health Insurance, employer covers 100% of employee and family premiumsDental Insurance, employer covers 100% of employee and family premiumsVision Insurance. employer covers 100% of employee and family premiumsRetirement benefits include matching 401k contributions of 1-for-1 matching up to 3% and 1-for-2 matching up to 5%, with a maximum match of 4% for a 5% employee contribution.
