Transportation Maintenance Coordinator - L1

Job OverviewThe Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance and repair activities for Class A/B commercial vehicles to ensure fleet safety, reliability, and compliance with DOT and company standards. This role acts as the central point of communication between drivers, technicians, vendors, and management to minimize downtime and control maintenance costs.Bonus, Incentives & Company-Provided ResourcesEligible for yearly bonusesCompany-provided laptop or computerCompany-provided work shirtsWhat does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:Schedule, track, and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for Class A trucks and trailersCommunicate with drivers regarding reported defects, breakdowns, and maintenance needsOpen, monitor, and close work orders, ensuring accurate documentationCoordinate repairs with internal technicians and external vendorsEnsure all maintenance activities comply with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standardsTrack vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) and ensure timely resolution of defectsMaintain accurate maintenance records for audits and regulatory complianceMonitor parts inventory and coordinate ordering as neededTrack vehicle downtime and assist in improving fleet availabilityReview repair estimates and invoices for accuracy and cost controlAssist with warranty claims and vendor negotiations when applicableThings you need to be able to do:Experience in fleet maintenance coordination, dispatch, or heavy-duty trucking operations preferredWorking knowledge of Class A commercial vehicles, trailers, and diesel systemsFamiliarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations and preventive maintenance programsStrong organizational and time-management skillsExcellent communication skills with drivers, technicians, and vendorsAbility to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to sit and process data for extended periods.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in seasonal weather conditions.Weekend availability as needed.Things that are a plus:Previous maintenance preferred; previous management experience a must.Previous CDL license holder is a plus.2 years of experience in fleet services and/or maintenance repair facility experienceHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.What we think you'll love about Gourmet Foods International:Advancement Opportunities.
