This exciting opportunity as a Commercial Profitability Manager focuses on analyzing customer-level profitability, optimizing margins, and supporting strategic decision-making across sales, operations, and finance teams. This role is ideal for a data-driven professional with strong financial analysis and margin management experience who enjoys working cross-functionally to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: Analyze and manage customer-level profitability by evaluating both Gross Margin (product cost) and Contribution Margin (cost-to-serve). Utilize data-driven insights to determine when to adjust pricing strategies, restructure service parameters, or phase out unprofitable accounts. Track and report bid results in real time, focusing on margin dollar variance compared to trailing twelve-month performance. Provide critical inputs to the FP&A team during the annual budgeting process, including volume, net sales, and margin projections by customer and category. Collaborate with operations to identify inefficient routes and develop strategies to improve routing efficiency and profitability. Conduct cost-to-margin analysis and partner with department leaders to improve profitability and minimize margin erosion. Utilize techniques such as activity-based costing (ABC) to determine true customer profitability by evaluating revenue against service costs. Monitor and analyze margin exception reports, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions. Manage and maintain low-margin reporting at the customer level, providing visibility and insights to senior leadership. Evaluate logistics and cost-to-serve impacts on pricing strategies and customer profitability. Drive process improvements and develop tools, including AI-based solutions, to enhance reporting accuracy and decision-making. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Experience: Bachelor's degree required. Experience in margin management, finance, foodservice, or related analytical roles preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and translate data into actionable financial insights. Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership across multiple departments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel. Experience with Microsoft NAV, margin management systems, or foodservice operations is a plus. Experience with presentations and communicating insights to executive leadership. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and collaboration tools. Occasional travel may be required (0-5%).
