Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting

The Accounting and Financial Operations team at Chainalysis supports a rapidly scaling global business through strong operational execution, scalable processes, and close partnership across the organization. As the company continues to grow and evolve, our team is focused on enhancing processes, improving scalability, and delivering timely, meaningful financial insights in a fast-paced environment.Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting will play a critical leadership role in scaling the company’s global revenue accounting function. This leader will partner closely with Sales, Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, Legal, Professional Services, FInance, Accounting, and Executive leadership to support a complex and evolving SaaS revenue model while ensuring operational scalability and compliance with ASC 606.The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with business judgment, operational leadership, and a mindset focused on simplification, automation, and continuous improvement. They are excited to help build scalable processes, influence cross-functional decisions, and proactively leverage modern technologies, including AI-enabled tools and automation capabilities, to improve workflows, accelerate insights, enhance decision-making, and increase team productivity.This is a highly visible role at the center of a rapidly scaling global business operating in one of the most dynamic areas of technology. The right candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the future of the revenue accounting function, influence key business decisions, and help modernize the systems and processes that support the company’s next stage of growth.ResponsibilitiesLead, develop, and scale a high-performing revenue accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and thoughtful adoption of modern technologies and AI-enabled workflowsReview and evaluate customer contracts and complex commercial arrangements to ensure revenue recognition conclusions are aligned with ASC 606 and company policyPartner closely with Legal, Deal Desk, Sales, Revenue Operations, Professional Services, and other stakeholders to structure scalable commercial arrangements and evaluate non-standard deal termsLead key aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process related to revenue, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial reportingLead and influence cross-functional quote-to-cash and revenue operations initiatives, including process improvements, automation efforts, and systems implementations designed to improve scalability, accuracy, and efficiencyServe as the Finance organization’s subject matter expert on revenue recognition and ASC 606Lead strategic revenue initiatives, including new systems implementations, accounting standard adoption, and support for evolving go-to-market strategiesDrive simplification, automation, and continuous improvement across revenue accounting processes and workflows, leveraging AI-enabled tools and scalable technologies to improve efficiency, reporting, and business insightsPartner with external auditors by presenting key revenue accounting matters, audit support, and technical accounting analysesCommunicate revenue accounting considerations, operational insights, and key business trends to senior finance leadershipQualifications8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience in SaaS or software revenue accounting environmentsDeep knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, including experience evaluating complex SaaS and services arrangementsStrong ability to interpret complex commercial arrangements and assess accounting implicationsProven experience leading, developing, and mentoring high-performing teamsExperience improving and scaling quote-to-cash processes, systems, and controls in a high-growth environmentStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and explain technical concepts clearlyAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment while managing multiple prioritiesStrong systems and operational mindset, with experience working across ERP, CRM, billing, and revenue platformsCuriosity and enthusiasm for leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve accounting operations, workflows, and decision-makingExperience operating in a high-growth public company or late-stage private company environment is a plusTechnologies We Use (No Prior Experience Necessary)Experience with systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, FloQast, Tesorio, or similar enterprise platforms is preferredStrong command of Google Workspace productsExposure to automation, analytics, or AI-enabled workflow tools is a plusSuccessful Candidates Will LikelyCombine strong technical accounting depth with operational pragmatismThrive in fast-paced and evolving environmentsBuild strong cross-functional relationships and operate effectively across Finance, GTM, Legal, and Operations teamsContinuously look for opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve processesEmbrace modern technologies and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and scalabilityBalance attention to detail with strong business judgment and a scalable mindsetAbout ChainalysisBlockchain technology is powering a growing wave of innovation.
