RN – ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Responsibilities Continuously assess, monitor, and evaluate critically ill patients’ conditions. Manage ventilators, cardiac monitors, oxygen systems, and life-support equipment. Administer medications , including vasoactive drips, sedatives, analgesics, and titratable IV infusions. Perform hemodynamic monitoring and interpret vital trends to respond quickly to changes in condition. Assist physicians during critical procedures (intubation, central lines, chest tubes, etc.). Provide post-operative care for trauma, surgical, and cardiac patients. Monitor neurological, respiratory, renal, and cardiac status using advanced clinical judgment. Maintain strict infection control and sterile technique protocols at all times. Document patient assessments, interventions, medication administration, and progress accurately in EMR. Provide family education, emotional support, and updates regarding patient status and care plans. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT/OT, physicians, case management). Participate in rapid response, code blue, and emergency interventions as needed. Ensure safe patient transitions during transfers or transport within the hospital.
