- This role collaborates effectively with senior leadership to consider and implement key plans that align with the hospitals and Virginia Commonwealth University Health System’s (VCUHS) mission and vision.
- The Vice President, Perioperative Services is responsible for the centralization, standardization, and leadership of peri-operative and procedural-based clinical departments (adults and pediatrics) within the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center (VCUMC) and Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR).
- The VP Perioperative Services supports the VCU Health System in efforts that lead to recognition within the healthcare community for excellence in nursing, maintenance of program and fellowship accreditation, and designation as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
- Areas of oversight include, but are not limited to, adult and pediatric operating rooms, post-anesthesia care units, pre-operative areas, endoscopy suites, high-level disinfection and sterile processing departments, pre-op anesthesia clinic, and ambulatory surgery center(s).
