- Chesterfield County Government is seeking a Utilities Public Information Officer to be responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies to achieve department and county goals.
- This position reports to the Director of Utilities and through coordination with the Department of Constituent and Media Services and is responsible for the department’s day-to-day media relations, online web content and social media.
- Producing the department's annual performance plan, a variety of department brochures, annual water quality report, bill inserts, serving as editor for the department's monthly newsletter, planning of bi-annual All Staff Meetings and department recognition meetings, and sending department emergency alert notifications.
- Successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, and minimum of two years of related experience required; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience with media relations, public relations, social media and Microsoft Office Suite required.
