- POSITION SUMMARY: The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation’s Legal Department is responsible for providing general legal services to both the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and its various commercial and governmental agencies and entities.
- Provides legal advice and representation on relevant legal matters, including for example, economic development, gaming, taxation, environmental resources, cultural resources, administrative matters, sovereignty, health and welfare issues, and employment law.
- Works with staff in all Tribal enterprises and Departments to address the legal needs of the Tribe and to provide general legal advice as needed.
- Drafts, reviews, negotiates, and analyzes contracts (e.g., construction, software, purchasing, governmental, employment, labor, agricultural, real estate, leases, gaming, marketing, human resources, security, maintenance, and environmental agreements) for all aspects of the Tribe’s governmental and commercial operations (including its agencies and businesses).
- Reviews, updates, drafts, and applies Tribal codes, ordinances, and policies to enhance and implement the Tribe’s self-governance objectives.
