- 5-10% travel required to various locations (generally within Indiana) for client meetings.
- The Transportation Engineer will specialize in the design of roadways including, but not limited to new roadways, roadway rehabilitations, added travel lanes, intersections, interchanges, traffic signals, traffic signs, small structures, enclosed drainage systems, and retention ponds.
- The Transportation Engineer will be required to use Microstation OpenRoads and InRoads, AASHTO MEPDG, and AutoTURN, together with knowledge of INDOT requirements to execute complex pavement design projects in compliance with INDOT roadway design standards.
- Additionally, the Transportation Engineer will be required to use hydrology and hydraulic computation software (HY8, REC-RAS, InRoads/OpenRoads Drainage, or similar) to perform hydraulic modeling to size small structures, design enclosed storm sewer systems, and determine project detention requirements.
- The Transportation Engineer will also perform traffic modeling to determine appropriate intersection or interchange modifications, which may include designing traffic signals and timings to accommodate existing and proposed traffic.
