- Successful Special Education Teacher Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong abilities in the development and implementation of strategies to meet the needs of students with a variety of handicapping conditions.
- Must have a strong understanding of modifying the general education curriculum for special-needs students, based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.
- Strong consideration given to candidates that have Autism classroom and positive behavioral support experience.
- Maintains accurate records and filing systems for accountability and audit purposes as required by law and Board policy.
- Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested
