To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. Our MK2 Crew Lander mission will demonstrate the lander's core capabilities - including the privately funded BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and integrated power and propulsion architecture - as a precursor to certifying the vehicle for use by NASA as part of the Artemis lunar exploration program. The team building this vehicle is rethinking how space systems are designed, with a high-performance architecture, efficient reusability, and rapid design iteration. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Special Mentions<ul><li>Relocation provided</li><li>Occasional travel up to 15% of the time</li><li>1st Shift: 8am - 5pm</li><li>Interviews will include a technical assessment</li></ul>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Generate and run structural analysis models and provide design feedback</li><li>Provide expert guidance on structural design and quantify performance over a variety of environments</li><li>Optimizing structural design of fluid system valves for mass, stiffness, leakage, reliability</li><li>Technical leadership of a small team working structural analysis</li><li>Support complete life cycle of the valves from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation</li><li>Work closely with designers to improve designs to deliver better than current state of the art performance</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field</li><li>10+ years of experience in structural analysis and mechanical component design</li><li>Proficient in the use of FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred) and the validation of structural analysis models</li><li>Experience with classical hand calculations for stress analysis based on common aerospace reference materials (Shigley, Bruhn, Roark etc.)</li><li>Experience with a wide variety of manufacturing methods, material selection, testing, characterization & allowable development</li><li>Experience analyzing components in high vibration environments</li><li>Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and inclusion</li><li>Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.</li></ul>Desired:<ul><li>Proficient with a number of the following analysis codes: Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct</li><li>Advanced Engineering degree</li><li>Direct experience providing feedback for design iteration and optimization</li><li>Experience with cryogenic and elevated temperature systems applications</li><li>Experience with fatigue analysis and linear-elastic fracture mechanics (hand calculations, NASGRO, etc.)</li><li>Demonstrated process automation experience using scripting (VBA, Matlab, Python, FORTRAN, etc.)</li></ul>Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $125,480-$175,672Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $136,467-$191,053Compensation range for on site CA applicants is $136,467-$191,053Other site ranges may differApplications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.Inclusivity StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
