- Inpatient Psychiatric Social Worker services include psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, counseling, crisis intervention, and patient/family education.
- OSUWMC Hospital Harding inpatient psychiatric social workers practice with adult or adolescent patients admitted to the Harding Hospital psychiatric inpatient units who have been hospitalized for debilitating or dangerous psychological and/or behavioral issues, such as severe depression, mania, psychosis, suicidal, homicidal, catatonia, co-morbid substance use, and other conditions.
- Each Inpatient Psychiatric Social worker maintains a caseload of patients to manage in collaboration with the attending psychiatrists and other members of the treatment team.
- The Inpatient Psychiatric Social Worker provides services to patients and/or families who receive inpatient psychiatric treatment.
- Psychiatric Inpatient Social Work duties include completing comprehensive mental health drug and alcohol diagnostic assessments utilizing the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) and ICD-10.
