- General Summary: Delphinus Engineering, Inc. is looking for a Ship Fitter III to function for a variety of government Ship Repair projects and alterations.
- Work is performed onboard US Naval ships and military installations in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, and temperature.
- Job Location: Norfolk, VA. Principal Duties/Responsibilities: Works under an AIT Project Manager supervision.
- Lays out and fabricates metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, and frames, and braces them in position within hull of ship for riveting or welding: Lays out position of parts on metal, working from blueprints or templates and using scribe and hand tools.
- Positions parts in hull of ship, assisted by RIGGER. Aligns parts in relation to each other, using jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges, and mauls.
