- In this Senior University Counsel position, the attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice to the University on higher education-related matters such as student and academic affairs.
- Attorney responsibilities include but are not limited to matters relating to academic integrity; disability access and accommodations; student misconduct, discipline and leaves; political activity; student records and privacy; discrimination and sexual misconduct; admissions and financial aid; athletics; diversity initiatives; student organizations; community safety; litigation and pre-litigation disputes and other duties as assigned.
- This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel and Managing Attorney.
- It also requires discretion, flexibility, excellent judgment, collaboration and the ability to understand and manage a broad range of client needs in a constantly changing, cutting-edge academic and medical center environment.
- Candidates should have a law degree from an accredited law school and a minimum of eight years of relevant experience gained in private practice or as in-house counsel, ideally in the higher education space and with student affairs experience.
