- The Veteran's Justice Outreach Coordinator (VJO) has clinical social work responsibilities that are primarily conducted in community settings.
- The VJO serves as a member of the Behavioral Health Program and is an integral part of the Homeless services; Substance Abuse Treatment Program and Mental Health teams, as these programs are the primary areas utilized in the criminal justice system.
- The clinical social worker assigned to this position will provide outreach and treatment services to a highly complex and high-risk population in contact with the criminal justice system, including those in contact with local police, those served by the courts, and those detained in secure city or county jail facilities.
- Collaboration with justice system including police officers, sheriff's deputies, court judges, classification officers, probation officers, reentry staff, public defenders, private attorneys and district attorneys.
