- Provides in-depth legal advice to the Board of Supervisors, county departments, special districts, special boards and commissions, and other official bodies on labor and employment law, including the most complex issues involving federal and State employment law, the County's Civil Service System, the Meyers-Millias-Brown Act (MMBA) and the County's Employee Relations Ordinance (ERO), pensions, employee benefits and related tax matters.
- Represents the County in administrative proceedings regarding employment issues, including but not limited to, the Los Angeles County Civil Service Commission and ERCOM.
- Five (5) years of experience in the practice of *public agency law, or general civil law experience in the areas of labor and employment law, and can include labor and employment litigation, administrative proceedings, legal advice, legal research, working for or in a government entity investigating allegations of employment discrimination, retaliation, and harassment such as Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) or similar.
