- Under the general direction of the Procurement Contracts & Agreement Deputy Director, plans, directs and manages complex professional and administrative activities related to the purchasing and contracting of materials, equipment, rolling stock, goods and services, ensuring compliance with applicable Agency, State and Federal regulations.
- Responsible for mentoring Materials, Technology and Services (MTS) staff and serves as a procurement and contracting resource for staff and others outside of the department.
- MTS staff will look to this position for mentoring, coaching and as a resource for researching unique or emerging procurement issues.
- Researches, prepares and issues solicitation and contract documents in accordance with Agency policies and procedures, federal and state laws and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) contracting regulations incorporating provisions such as Buy America and cost accounting standards, and in compliance with socioeconomic programs such as DBE, small business and sustainability.
- Interprets and directs the development of contract provisions and reviews contracts for accuracy; coordinates and reviews with the Procurement Contracts & Agreements Director and Legal as applicable; and evaluates and approves contract modifications.
