- Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable for appointment from the current Civil Service eligible list for the title;ORBe eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. To qualify for a Section 70.1 transfer, candidates must have at least one year of permanent status in a qualifying title approved for transfer by Civil Service, within two salary grades of the Grade 16 level.
- Candidates may also be required to pass a physical examination as well as a physical agility test prior to appointment.
- Duties Description As a Security Hospital Senior Treatment Assistant, in a secure forensic unit or hospital, you would supervise Security Hospital Treatment Assistants in the care and custody of a group of mentally ill patients considered potentially dangerous.
- You would provide assistance with psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation and basic nursing care.
- You would model acceptable behaviors and verbal skills, teach replacement behaviors, and implement treatment goals through positive therapeutic interactions with patients.
