- A research specialist A is needed to run experiments investigating the evolution and biology of HIV and SIV. This position will support projects involving the isolation and characterization of HIV-1 and related simian-human immunodeficiency virus (SHIV) chimeras.
- This individual should understand DNA/RNA extraction cloning and genetic characterization.
- This individual should also know how to implement and troubleshoot PCR protocols including Single Genome Amplification, next generation sequencing library preparation, sequencing chemistries, and high throughput purification methods.
- Molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA purification, PCR, cloning, and western blotting will be used on a daily basis.
