- Job Description Job Description Registered Nurse, Women's Emergency Department: Women & Infants Emergency Department provides 24-hour care to women needing urgent and emergent medical or surgical care.
- With the opening of a new women’s medical surgical unit at Women & Infants, the emergency department will not only serve as an obstetric triage unit and provide a unique level of acute care in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, but it will also have expanded services to meet the needs of all women presenting with medical surgical conditions as seen in a traditional emergency department setting.
- The emergency department at Women & Infants will be staffed with emergency room physicians and nurses, obstetricians, nurse practitioners and nurse midwives.
- The Registered Nurse is expected to provide primary nursing care for patients and to assume responsibility for other nursing care process by assessment, plan of care, intervention, and evaluation.
- Emergency Department nurses are expected to identify medical emergencies, triage and determine severity and provide immediate support and interventions.
