- Job Summary: The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim.
- The SANE exam may include a medical-forensic exam, prophylaxis for sexually transmitted infections, photographic documentation, and referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, as well as referral to the local Rape Crisis Advocacy Center.
- Education Degree Obtained Program of Study Required/Preferred Graduation from an approved program of nursing.
- Required Experience Years of Experience Type of Experience Required/Preferred 2 Years 1 Year Nursing Specialty experience in women’s health, emergency department, or intensive care Required Preferred Certification & Licensures Required/Preferred Possession of a current RN license from the Texas State Board of Nursing.
- Required CPR or BLS Certified Completion of the SANE Adult and/or SANE Pediatric certification including the SANE didactic training as approved by the Texas Office of the Attorney General.
