Responsibilities <ul><li>Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist</li><li>Verify patient identification and treatment details to ensure accuracy</li><li>Position patients for treatment using immobilization devices and other equipment</li><li>Operate radiation therapy machines and monitor patients during treatment</li><li>Maintain accurate and detailed treatment records</li><li>Collaborate with the radiation oncologist and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective treatment planning and delivery</li><li>Educate patients and their families about the radiation therapy process and potential side effects</li><li>Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines for radiation therapy</li><li>Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the highest level of patient care </li></ul>Requirements <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy or a related field</li><li>Valid and unrestricted certification as a Radiation Therapist from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)</li><li>State licensure as a Radiation Therapist</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in radiation therapy, preferably in an oncology setting</li><li>Thorough knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and equipment</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks</li><li>Commitment to patient safety and delivering compassionate care </li></ul>Benefits Location: Kansas City, KS Class/Area: Proton Radiation Therapist | Oncology Pay Rate: $2,400-$2,600 Desired Start Date: ASAP Length of Assignment: 14Weeks Hours per Week: 40 hrs Shift time: either 10a-630p 5 days/week or 8a-630p 4days/week Schedule Details: Monday - Friday On-Call Requirements: None Weekend Requirement: None Holiday Requirement: Holidays not required: In the event of a holiday falling on a scheduled workday, subsequent pay periods will be reduced by holiday pay hours.
