- Position Summary Columbia Center for Community Health is home to Columbia’s Community Health Worker (CHW) Training Institute called ‘InTOuCH.’ This program recruits trusted members of churches from West and Central Harlem to complete an 8-week, certified CHW training curriculum.
- Selected CHWs will participate in the Community Health Workers United to Reduce Colorectal and Cardiovascular Disease among people at Higher Risk (CHURCH Trial), an NIH-funded study ResponsibilitiesThe Project Coordinator will understand the sociocultural factors contributing to health disparities, specifically focusing on African American faith-based communities.
- The Project Coordinator will develop and maintain relationships by conducting outreach to community faith leaders at community meetings in under-represented communities.
- The project coordinator will manage and coordinate aspects of research as well as assist with participant payment, data analysis, manuscript preparation, completion of interviews, and IRB submissions.
- They will oversee recruitment, weekly management, and supervision of RA and the CHW outreach team conducting colorectal cancer, lifestyle, and dietary screenings.
