- The Center for Black Educator Development exists to (re)build a national Black Teacher Pipeline to achieve educational and racial justice by ensuring there is equity in the recruiting, training, hiring, and retention of quality educators that reflect the cultural background and share common socio-political interests of the students they serve.
- CBED offers three programs within its Teaching Pathways programming: Freedom Schools Literacy Academy, Teaching Academy, and the Black Teacher Pipeline Fellowship Program.
- Freedom Schools Literacy Academy (FSLA) is a 4-week summer apprenticeship program that prepares high-school and college-aged aspiring educators by way of providing literacy intervention to elementary school scholars.
- Teaching Academy (TA) is our in-school intellectually rigorous CTE curriculum that exposes high school students to Black pedagogy and historical frameworks and hands-on practicum experience to prepare them for a career in teaching.
