- This new Office of Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention is to be launched and staffed by a Program Director and a Senior Program Manager, as a City of Boston (COB) Initiative housed within the Division of Violence Prevention (DVP), Boston Public Health Commission.
- The establishment of this new Office is a manifestation of the influential impacts of the Dee Kennedy Family Justice Center (FJC), a DVP program, and is pursuant to an FJC strategy review aimed at further preventing domestic and sexual violence in Boston and supporting residents impacted by these harms.
- The Program Director and Senior Program Manager will develop this new Office informed, in part, by DPH's Division of Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention and Services within their Bureau of Community Health and Prevention; the leadership of the FJC Leadership Council (on- and off-site community partner agencies); and via community engagement.
- This is to be done in alignment with City of Boston's Violence Prevention Strategic Planning efforts, recognizing the intersectionality of various forms of violence (e.g., gun violence, community violence, family violence, etc.)
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with providers of services in the areas of: domestic violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, commercial sexual exploitation/human trafficking, partner abuse.
