They are looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located in Columbia, MO as a Production Operator I. As a Production Operator I, you will play a key supporting role in the production and packaging process of delicious Beyond Meat products. You will handle and monitor product and equipment, ensure that everything is running smoothly, and be a safe, productive, and valued team member. TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><ul><li>Under Supervisor guidance, perform daily production activities and operate equipment while maintaining a safe, high-quality, high-volume manufacturing environment</li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including sweeping, gathering trash, and other janitorial duties as assigned</li><li>Prepare machinery and tools for sanitation, and/or assist with breakdown and cleaning of machinery</li><li>Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer product from warehouse to production to freezer (per business need)</li><li>Ensure equipment is maintained in clean, good, and safe working condition and recommend improvements to ensure safety, quality, and production capacity</li><li>Assist in assembling and verifying all machinery is set up and ready for production daily and set to spec for operations</li><li>Prepare workstations, gather required tools, and retrieve daily batch sheets from Lead/Supervisors</li><li>Follow all Food Safety policies in ensuring safety and quality of product</li><li>Know how to verify ingredients are within spec of customer and government regulation</li><li>Help junior Production Operators in their assigned responsibilities</li><li>Recommend and support development and process improvements to enhance operational safety and efficiency</li><li>Identify and report unsafe operations to Supervisor or leader immediately</li><li>Follow all company policies and procedures, safety procedures, food safety guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices beyond regulatory needs</li><li>Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner</li></ul></ul> QUALIFICATIONS <ul><ul><li>Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience: </li><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Manufacturing experience, especially food manufacturing experience, is preferred</li><li>Problem solving skills and attention to detail</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Ability to comprehend and follow instructions</li><li>Ability to understand and follow safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices</li><li>Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential to maintain a culture of cooperation and respect </li><li>Must be able to work individually in a team environment</li><li>Must be punctual and dependable</li><li>Flexibility to work any/all shifts to support a high growth work environment</li><li>Mandatory overtime is required on occasion, which can include some weekends and/or holidays</li></ul></ul> WORK ENVIRONMENT <ul><ul><li>Warehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas. </li><li>The work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</li><li>Position requires the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, step, balance, crouch, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, must be able to lift minimal 50 lbs. consistently, reach above shoulders, or as needed to complete tasks.</li><li>Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks.</li><li>Position located in a mix of production and office environments and requires a tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10-40° F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures.</li><li>This position will be required to visit the production floor, refrigerated and frozen storage, and warehouses.</li><li>Work flexible shifts as required.</li><li>Understand that overtime and occasional weekends and/or worked holidays will be required based on company needs. </li></ul></ul> $19 - $19 an hour The starting hourly base pay for this role is between USD $19 and $20.90. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
