- Functions independently of direct supervision to safely operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology.
- Applies the application of recording devices to the patient, cleaning/sterilization of equipment and monitoring of polysomnograms.
- Recognize sleep pathology when it occurs in the laboratory and responds with the appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety.
- Sets up, calibrates and monitors recording equipment necessary for PSG, MSLT, NPT and CPAP/BIPAP to ensure artifact free tracings.
- Board registered Polysomnographic Technologist or ABSM Sleep Technologist.
