- Under the direction of an authorized user, the PET/CT Technologist is responsible for the use of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation to generate fusion images for diagnostic and research purposes.
- The PET/CT Technologist will review the patient’s medical history to understand the patient’s illness and pending diagnostic procedure; instruct the patient before, during, and following the procedure; evaluate the satisfactory preparation of the patient before beginning a procedure; and recognize emergency patient conditions and initiate lifesaving first aid when appropriate.
- Completion of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology Program required.
- Must be registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (N.M.T.C.B) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (N).
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (CT) or N.M.T.C.B. (CT).
