- Under general supervision from the Perioperative Systems Business Manager, Director of Perioperative Services, and Executive Director of Perioperative Services, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of daily charges for time, room, supplies and implants, and confirms all interfaces are working successfully so that patient billing is completed.
- The Perioperative Clinical Informatics Coordinator serves as a liaison between practicing clinicians and Information Technology (IT) staff to improve the EMR and related clinical and business systems.
- Provides end-user support to clinicians to ensure appropriate use and functionality of clinical information systems including, but not limited to Cerner and Lawson applications.
- Develops, evaluates and revises, in conjunction with hospital administration, clinical experts, IT and clinical Informatics workgroups, clinical documentation processes and tools/reports to support operational improvement processes, accuracy of perioperative documentation for compliance with regulatory bodies, and timely, appropriate billing processes to support revenue cycle.
- Partners with organizational leadership to monitor and audit clinical documentation for compliance with regulatory standards and to support revenue cycle initiatives.
