- Summary Peer Recovery Partner Supporting the Portland Community A Peer Recovery Partner provides one-on-one support and outreach to people in the community, at their homes, and/or at the location where the peer works, such as substance use treatment programs or emergency department.
- They are willing to self-identify on that basis and effectively shares about their personal lived experience in a way that fosters a healthy relationship, centered on each person exploring wellness, challenges, and new ways of thinking about life and challenges.
- Collaborate with substance use peer support team to stay current on relevant training materials on harm reduction, domestic violence, poverty, and navigating advocacy in healthcare systems Responsibilities Manage conflict appropriately, within the team and with people in the program Receive and remain current on training as a Recovery Coach and/or Intentional Peer Support Specialist.
- Help carry out outreach and engagement activities Advocate for individuals to receive needed community resources related to substance use and more (housing, employment, cash assistance, education, transportation etc) as needed Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) – “What you will need”: Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support is preferred Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends when needed.
