- In addition to the required minimum of 60 hours of theory/classroom training, the certification program shall also consist of 100 hours of supervised and on-the-job clinical training practice.
- The instructor will follow the California Department of Public Health approved curriculum: Nurse Assistant Training Assessment Program (NATAP), developed by the California Community College Chancellors Office and adopted by Prosperity Training Center.
- The instructor is responsible to train non-certified individuals in basic nursing tasks consisting of a minimum of 60 hours of theory/classroom training on basic nursing skills, patient safety and rights, the social and psychological problems of patients, and elder abuse recognition and reporting.
- additionally, the curriculum shall include within the 60 hours of theory/classroom training, a minimum of 6 hours of instruction on preventing, recognizing, and reporting instances of abuse utilizing those courses developed pursuant to Section 138.23 of the Penal Code, and a minimum of 1 hour of instruction on preventing, recognizing, and reporting residents' rights violations.
