- Responsibilities: Collect and document data gathered during the delivery of care; Communicate abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to the supervising RN; Collaborate with the other disciplines as appropriate to provide continuity of patient care from admission to discharge in support of the medical and nursing plans of care.
- The Nursing Technician may perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, transporting patients, supplies and specimens; ordering and stocking supplies; and coordinating clerical and reception activities.
- Administers and documents basic nursing care including vital signs and observations of signs and symptoms and reports any reactions or changes in condition to the supervising RN.Participates in patient care conferences.
- The scope of the Nurse Tech role may broaden as the Nurse Tech progresses through their nursing education program and the skills are validated by the approved nursing program and as delegated by the RN. Provides the Director of Nursing Services documentation of skills completed in the nursing program Documents accurately, promptly and appropriately according to according to facility policy.
- Assist patient care staff in completing their patient care assignments.
