- Summary:This position independently performs advanced neurodiagnostic procedures, including EEG and Long Term Video EEG monitoring procedures in all settings (ACS, ED, critical care, neonatal ICU. Neurodiagnostic procedures, including patient interaction, safety, and appropriate system settings, are tailored to the individual patient's needs, the reason for the referral, and medical history.
- Core skills and knowledge: The electroencephalographic (EEG) technologist has the knowledge base to interact with the patient and obtain a quality, interpretable EEG recording that will yield information about the brain’s neuronal activity.
- Performs advanced neurodiagnostic procedures to include routine and continuous EEG techniques in all situations and in all age groups independently with minimal supervision.
- Performs advanced neurodiagnostic procedures to include digital EEG, topographic mapping of EEG/EP data and NCVs.
