- Patient care will be provided in-person and virtually at one of NYC Health Hospitals' Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers (HERRCs) making a difference in the lives of migrants.
- Responsibilities Conduct culturally competent short-term counseling, crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, and psychoeducation, including: Crisis intervention Identify need and make referrals, for outpatient/inpatient care and hospital transport.
- Trauma triage/trauma informed assessment Peer support Conducting emergency evaluation/assessment for: Mental health and mental health crises Substance use/disorder Occupational needs Domestic violence Advocacy on behalf of the family when working with NYC Administration for Children's Services or other preventative services.
- Coordinating on domestic violence cases, particularly in instances where a 911 call must be made.
- Handling transfers to domestic violence shelter.
